Level-IV emergency flood responses activated in Haihe River

TIANJIN, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) — Two bureaus have activated Level-IV emergency responses aimed at flooding control and defense in the Haihe River, according to the Haihe River Water Conservancy Commission under the Ministry of Water Resources.
Rain ranging from heavy to torrential is expected in the Haihe River Basin on Aug. 25 and 26, according to meteorological forecasts.
It is required that relevant departments enhance duty shifts and information reporting, and effectively carry out all flood and drought disaster defense measures to ensure the safety of people’s lives and property.
China has a four-tier emergency response system for flood control, with Level I being the most urgent response. ■
